so, the honey turned the big 3-0 this past weekend.
and, since i am a pretty good girlfriend, i decided to throw him a surprise birthday party.

here are the details:

• all day shopping spree at world market & party city for all the decorations and props
• i made funfetti cupcakes with cute little glitter pom poms 
• dinner at NOMI {one of the best seats and views in the city} to act like that was the big surprise 
• all his friends were waiting back at his place to surprise him 
• the honey was VERY surprised and touched by the party 
• then, we surprised him even more by moving the party to lincoln karaoke {you reserve your own karaoke room to sing in} it's seriously awesome and no waiting in line! 
• i had decorated the room before the evening began so that everyone had little chinese takeout boxes full of candy. there were little costume items and pretty wallpaper all over the room
• darth vader candle for the honey's cupcake

some of the fun props included

• pirate eye patches
• tattoo sleeves
• native american headdress
• adhesive mustaches
• kazoos
• parasol
• disguise glasses
• dinosaur tattoos

with the help of the honey's roommate, we had all of the guests write down what cheesy song reminded them of the honey and why. then we put it all in a cute book so he could look back on all of the fun memories of the night.

i had so much fun and i think the honey and our friends did too : )
