an old man lives here :: my living room decor wishlist

so i am moving...next friday to be exact.
not virtually but physically. i think we need to clarify that since we're friends on the web and all.

going through my 'want' list on pinterest only makes me realize that i have the same home decor style-sense as a cooky, elderly gentleman. and to that i say - so be it!

when things are gold...they're fancy...when they're dusty, dirty AND gold...they're refined. hence the reason why you simply cannot go wrong with an antiqued gold dinosaur on your mantle. {sarcasm. no, but really.}

here were a few items that fit with the moodboard {oh yes, i did make a moodboard} i made for our living room. that i obviously can't afford or find but will find a way to thrift something within that same vein.

you can bet your bottom dollar i will. thoroughly, an elderly gentleman was here.

two // speaker
three // chair
four // dino

marni foulard winter edition 2012 :: campaign

so i cannot tell which i am loving more :: the campaign or the clothes. in a clever rockabilly//pin-up paperdoll -esque styling, the adorable model is photographed in a series of undressing and redressing stages, while going through the each item in the collection. it is truly creative and utterly whimsical. same being said for the collection as well.

the collection itself has a very ray and charles eames playland type feel. fun turtlenecks are adorned with primitive sketches sneaking in little pops of color. the other items boast geometric patterns that aren't too stuffy since the lines are being offset by bold, warm colors.

here are some of my favorites in the collection ::

FIVE // SIX // SEVEN

sweet like candy :: upcycled geometric treasure boxes

i just love these colorful geometric ring boxes from oh dier on etsy! i love that they have so many colors. they remind me of candy.

they're made from reclaimed wood and perfect for hiding tiny treasures. oh dier says they're 'perfect for presenting rings or presenting THE ring' ;) -- too funny!
