when i went to the opening of the newly constructed modern wing {i became a member of the museum just to get in!} at the art institute in chicago i was taken aback by cy twombly's larger than life abstract floral murals. they were bold and colorful - i wanted to constantly be surrounded by such happiness. learning that these lovely paintings were done by a little old man on a ladder only made me love them more...
when i came across this piece by cy twombly i was shocked. so unlike what i was used to seeing by him yet just as fantastic. it's lovely muted colors make me swoon. it reminds me of summer at dusk. so i built a little outfit around this piece. here we go::
