monday metamorphosis on a tuesday?! :: cy twombly

when i went to the opening of the newly constructed modern wing {i became a member of the museum just to get in!} at the art institute in chicago i was taken aback by cy twombly's larger than life abstract floral murals. they were bold and colorful - i wanted to constantly be surrounded by such happiness. learning that these lovely paintings were done by a little old man on a ladder only made me love them more...

when i came across this piece by cy twombly i was shocked. so unlike what i was used to seeing by him yet just as fantastic. it's lovely muted colors make me swoon. it reminds me of summer at dusk. so i built a little outfit around this piece. here we go::

monday metamorphosis :: parisian mod

i absolutely love this art by yoko tanji. it reminds me of a mod parisian ad which is probably why i love it so much. needless to say, i just had to use it for monday metamorphosis. so here we are!

i hope everyone had a lovely weekend. i had a very nice time yesterday spending it with loved ones. i have been running myself ragged lately so it was really nice to force myself to take a time out and just enjoy being.

monday metamorphosis:: lite brite

hello lovelies! i am so happy to be back and refreshed after this weekend.

for the second week {and hopefully for all eternity} i am going to be doing these monday  metamorphosis posts because i absolutely love finding art that inspires me as well as putting together outfits that are just as creative and colorful. also, what better way to inspire your daily wares than absorbing an amazing piece of artwork?!

so this week's post is inspired by the beautiful light paintings by twin cities brightest. they do such magnificent work - it really blows my mind. he's all about combining photography, graphic design and performance to create a unique identity that allows magic and the supernatural to occur on a daily basis.
