i came across one of ryan pickart's lovely paintings on pinterest yesterday and was stunned by his aesthetic and composition of his works. his almost ethereal subjects remind me so much of gustav klimt's water serpents. the colors in each work are all so lovely. i wish i could stare at them all day.

faceless girls :: original paintings by clare elsaesser

i cannot tell you how stunned i was when i came across clare elsaesser's work in her etsy shop, tastes orangey. i ended up buying the first pictured print you see here. clare threw in a whole bunch of goodies, wrapped everything beautifully and even emailed me to let me know they were on their way. when the print arrived, i was stunned by how vibrant the colors were. sometimes you find that once you get the print in your own hands it looks a bit duller - this was definitely not the case.

i am still trying to find the perfect frame for the piece and am already bookmarking the next prints i want to purchase.

surreal still life :: oil paintings by emma bennett

i found myself entranced by emma bennett's still life paintings the other night.

they are so delicate and interesting. i have never really been fond of still lifes in art class, at the museum or in my childhood home growing up so i am very delighted to have found an artist so talented that they make me captivated by such.

ashley curry paints all of those tiny paintings. how sweet is that?!
i know a lot of people who can use those in their lovely miniature designed dollhouses project.
