primitive abstract ceramic art :: by shino's world

i have been on the hunt for handmade ceramic tumblers for quite some time now. needless to say, i've scoured nearly all of etsy believe it or not. i was delighted to come across shino's world during one of my monotonous searches.

not only does the talented shino create lovely abstract ceramic bowls, mugs and a wide range of other items you might need while eating or drinking but the items that intrigued me the most seemed to be the primitive geometric necklaces that are hand painted. bits of geometry are strung from a simple silk cord.

it's sheer shape invites people to just look upon it and be intrigued by it's quirkiness.

i want one so bad.

ready to wear botanicals :: natalia grzybowski's designs

my jaw is on the ground right now.

natalia grzybowski is a rare genius in the fashion world. her new line of patterns and shapes is ::

'an art form within itself, complimenting, without overtly sexualising the female form, using shapes that are simultaneously structured yet soft, mimicking the form of a flower.'

well, natalia if i came across a woman in this, i'd have to strip her bare and make a run for it {garments in hand}.

a crystallized love story:: score + solder lookbook

these crystal balls are mesmerizing.

i was so taken with score + solder's past lookbook and current terrariums that i couldn't help but share them here. their wonderful shapes, the versatility of each different kind, the crystals hanging from the ceiling in a few of the 'special' ones. they're so mystical.

all of their terrariums and planters are handmade one by one upon order with lead-free {a must} solder. each terrarium comes with a kit that includes:: rocks, sand, activated charcoal and a quartz crystal -- sounds like my kind of room decor.

check out their beautiful site right here.

wall candy :: claire desjardins for anthropologie

ever since i received the new anthro catalogue, i have been obsessed overly enthusiastic about claire desjardins abstract artwork. the bright colors, bold brush strokes and overall warmth and excitement of each piece definitely entice me to shell out $900-$2,700 buckaroos to call one my own.

see more of her work here.

abstract patterns

hello there and happy monday!

i have been visiting lots of museums lately and i must say that i absolutely LOVE dressing for a day at the museum. i will usually wear something that's a bit victorian vintage to history museums {or at least something retro} and i like to wear really modern or deco///nouveau prints for art museums and galleries - believe me when i say that they're a dime a dozen in chicago - which is actually really nice.

i came across this lovely lady and stylist shirley kurata thanks to the house that lars built and was nothing less than inspired by all of the graphic prints she boldly wears. i have also been eyeing these lovely bags by tarco. the abstract design mixed with those colors and embroidered textures makes me want to just jump for joy.
