historical modern living :: chicago bath house

it's not everyday that one of chicago's historical public bath houses goes up for sale - let alone rent. but alas, as i was browsing rental properties on craigslist {i'm moving this summer} i came across this amazing place right in the heart of wicker park.

as of right now, you can rent {or buy:: $2.3 million} the three bedroom/three bath renovated space for $5,000 a month over on chicago apartment finders. it's garden was landscaped by craig bergman and won a best urban garden award. judging by the pictures, it must have.

now i am very particular about renting old places, so the first question that comes to mind has to be::

i wonder what kind of ghosts haunt old bath houses?

so andrew and i were out and about saturday night in wicker park.

it was drizzly and gloomy but i got to trade in clothes that i

no longer wear at two of the many traders and picked up

two wonderful designer dresses - so excited!

as we were going to eat at piece, i couldn't help

but gasp at asrai garden's {ahem, my favorite floral shop} windows:

they used the doily pendant diy that i pinned on pinterest!

i was so excited to see it in person since i have been meaning to

do it for so long now. i posted the how-to below in case

you would like to try - it seems relatively simple : )

oh, and do you love my new shoes?

i sure do! they remind me of the jelly vivienne westwood's -

except i like the bows way more than the hearts.
