the eclectically modern bohemian's shopping guide

arlo panorama sofa...gee whiz...talk about drama in a room.

chien coffee table. no barking. no whining. just cuteness. and maybe a hint of eclectic creepiness.

if you already have the swan rug then go big or go home. get the matching {themed} light shade lamp.

the atley bedding makes you feel like you're sleeping on fine china - who wouldn't want that?!

bunnies are a must. swinging hare door knocker got me mighty excited.

bohemian to the max :: olumes rug ottoman

i call this abstract craft/mid-century modern. yep. i need it. dynamic sphere chandelier.

fellow frenchie xavier dumont creates my wildest nouveau dreams with these chairs.

looks dangerous but i'm willing to try. barnwood hanging bed.

i'll be putting these on every cabinet in sight. swirl knobs.

rustic to the max. i like my furniture looking decades old. duh. reclaimed boat bench.

for my spare bedroom or when i feel like sleeping on heavy saturated color which very well could be every other night. ipomoea quilt.

eclectic style in the uk :: coggles street style archive

i stumbled upon coggles street style somehow and am now addicted. the men that they capture are so insanely stylish! so are the women of course but i think it's a bit rare to find so many creative, well-dressed men. i love how eclectic everyone they capture is as well. i definitely believe in creating your own style and bucking trends at every turn. the people portrayed on coggles exemplifies this mindset completely.

now go get addicted!

an old man lives here :: my living room decor wishlist

so i am moving...next friday to be exact.
not virtually but physically. i think we need to clarify that since we're friends on the web and all.

going through my 'want' list on pinterest only makes me realize that i have the same home decor style-sense as a cooky, elderly gentleman. and to that i say - so be it!

when things are gold...they're fancy...when they're dusty, dirty AND gold...they're refined. hence the reason why you simply cannot go wrong with an antiqued gold dinosaur on your mantle. {sarcasm. no, but really.}

here were a few items that fit with the moodboard {oh yes, i did make a moodboard} i made for our living room. that i obviously can't afford or find but will find a way to thrift something within that same vein.

you can bet your bottom dollar i will. thoroughly, an elderly gentleman was here.

one // tumblers
two // speaker
three // chair
four // dino
five // coffee pot

randolph street market :: ooodles of treasures coming june 23//24

it's almost here!!

next weekend i will finally be able to scour the randolph street market for all sorts of vintage treasures! can you tell i'm a bit excited? i missed the last one because i was away so i've developed quite the hankering now.

i've been religiously attending the randolph street market {in chicago} now for almost three years and i have NEVER left empty handed - there are always a ton of fabulous finds! and they have the widest variety of goods too. there's furniture, clothing, jewelry, records, art, decor, tools, odd bits, etc. and it certainly ranges in period. they even have indie designers and artists showcased. it's absolutely wonderful!

it honestly couldn't come at a better time either. i am moving at the end of june into a beautiful three bedroom apartment with my friend...but because of the size...we're going to need to pick up a lot more furniture! bazinga! i hope i find some interesting pieces!

tidbit of advice::
no matter which day you attend, get there as early as possible to score the good finds!!!
*this season they've added a ticket purchase option that let's you in earlier than the actual start time to scout out and purchase in advance...in case you're anything like me!

jayson home :: spring 2012 catalog

as a chicagoan, one of my favorite things to do is visit jayson home in lincoln park. i feel like a kid in a candy shop every time i'm in there. their store specializes in scouring the globe for both modern and vintage furnishings that are a slightly edgy and always elegant. their store oozes with eclectic, well-traveled goodness.

during one of my visits i fell in love with a giant, turn of the century luggage case for a harp. it had aged international travel stamps layering the outside leather. it was simply amazing and had such a wonderful history to share.

so needless to say i suppressed a shriek when i received their new online spring 2012 catalog. some of the furniture in there was INSANE! my two favorites being the ones pictured above - both very different styles but equally intriguing. and much like their store, every item in the catalog's layout was meticulously and deliciously curated as you can see in the second picture above.

looks like i will have to make another visit very, very soon! view the entire catalog here.

into the lives of bohemian birds:: tales of endearment

i love when i find places like tales of endearment in little nooks and crannies of the web. places where i can just simply lose myself in the lives of other eclectics and roll around with bohemian images that beg to pinned onto my pinterest boards.

well, tales of endearment is a little piece of heaven to all those who happen upon it. straight out of the diary of brooklyn fashion consultant and casting agent, natalie joos. joos enjoys sharing lovely stories about friends, vintage, love, style and life. she shares these stories through her interesting articles, talented lens and amazingly unique friendships.

go get caught up in tales of endearment here.
